Franklin Avenue Mission is a project of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Tri Circuit congregations. We participate in Clean & Green in cooperation with the Genesee County Land Bank. Our goal is to become a vital resource for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Clean & Green is our summer activity. Join us as we put boots on ground to be the hands, feet, face and voice of Jesus Christ on Flint’s east side. We mow, rake, pick up trash and board up homes to restore God’s natural beauty to neighborhoods around the mission. In 2015, we removed 59 tons of trash—a community group record!
On Tuesdays & Thursdays, from 4 to 5 pm, dedicated servants provide an opportunity for children ages 3 to 16 to come together and enjoy planned activities—such as crafts, reading and games. This adult supervised activity creates a safe place for neighborhood children to pay and build strong personal relationships with one another.
Keeping the water flowing in Flint…
In the midst of all of the issues facing Flint, God is working through many statewide churches—including Lutheran churches volunteering to purchase and bring water to us. Thousands of gallons of water have arrived from as far away as Chicago, making Franklin Avenue Mission a vital distribution point for this area. Additional water filters, replacement cartridges, water test kits and filtered water pitchers are also available. Praise God for all He is doing in this community.
