Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30-5:30pm
This diner was specifically designed to meet the struggles of the malnutrition which stem from systemic poverty. In partnership with many churches in the greater Flint area, we provide scripture, prayer, and well-balanced meals to our patrons for free. Men, women, and children are invited to come and gather around the safety of our tables for a meal as family.
Sundays 4pm (Currently Outdoors)
We gather together as the Franklin Family to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed, receive the forgiveness of sins, and celebrate the goodness of The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit through the gift of music. After worship there is also a time to gather for fellowship downstairs in the cafeteria.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 4pm (On Summer Break)
Dedicated servants provide an opportunity for children ages 3 to 16 to come together and enjoy planned activities—such as crafts, reading and games. This adult supervised activity creates a safe place for neighborhood children to pay and build strong personal relationships with one another.
The early church devoted themselves to the Apostles' teaching, fellowship, and the breaking of bread and prayer. So before dinner is served on Tuesdays, we also gather together to study the Word and lift each other up in prayer.
New Session Starting Soon
Belong is a 6 month journey where members learn what it means to be in relationship with God and with each other at Franklin Avenue Mission. Lessons will include the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Confession, and the Lord's Supper. By completing Belong, participants will have learned everything we believe, teach, and confess to be true about our Christian faith at Franklin Avenue Mission.
The Clothing Closet is stocked with seasonal clothing, personal care items, as well as blankets. These items have been carefully screened as to provide only the best possible resource for those who call the Eastside home.
On Scheduled Summer Saturdays
Franklin Avenue Mission is a project of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Tri Circuit congregations. We participate in Clean & Green in cooperation with the Genesee County Land Bank. Our goal is to become a vital resource for residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Clean & Green is our summer activity. Join us as we put boots on ground to be the hands, feet, face and voice of Jesus Christ on Flint’s east side. We mow, rake, pick up trash and board up homes to restore God’s natural beauty to neighborhoods around the mission. In 2015, we removed 59 tons of trash—a community group record!
